ABOUT STREAMTIPZ

How We Test Streaming Services and Devices

StreamTipz’s hands-on testing is carried out by Stuart Kerr Spindlow, Founder, Publisher & Lead Reviewer. I personally use and evaluate the streaming services, apps and devices covered in my reviews and comparisons.

What a useful review should answer

I assess suitability for the viewer: what you can legally watch, which plan and devices you need, how usable the service or device is, what it costs and where its limitations matter. Recommendations explain who should choose an option, who should avoid it and when an alternative is better.

Hands-on experience and supporting evidence

My experience informs the verdict. Current official documentation supports checks of features, compatibility, subscription terms and pricing. Personal observations are distinguished from provider claims and external evidence. Relevant screenshots or measurements are included when available; illustrations are not presented as test evidence.

Testing scope varies by article. Devices, plans, countries, dates, resolutions and performance measurements are stated only when supported by the actual assessment. Testing one configuration does not establish results for every configuration.

Comparisons and rankings

I compare equivalent plans and relevant viewing needs, considering usability, supported devices, content availability, limitations and total cost, including required add-ons. Rankings reflect the audience and use case. Affiliate commission does not determine placement, and non-affiliate alternatives are considered where useful.

Where-to-watch and sports guides

Viewing guides use official platforms, broadcasters, leagues and rights holders to check country-specific rights, schedules and access requirements. They distinguish live broadcasts, replays and highlights; included access, add-ons and pay-per-view; and free access, trials and refund policies. Schedules identify the applicable time zone.

These guides do not manufacture hands-on tests to establish broadcast rights. StreamTipz recommends lawful access and does not treat a VPN as a replacement for subscriptions or viewing rights.

Updates and corrections

A price or availability check is different from a hands-on retest. Material changes are reflected in the article; an updated date does not by itself mean the service or device was retested. Streaming information can change, so check the provider’s current terms before subscribing.
